Recognizes an epitope on the N-terminus of adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH). It is specific to Synacthen (1-24 ACTH) and does not cross-react with CLIP (17-39 ACTH). It labels corticotrophs in the adenohypophysis and is useful in the classification of pituitary adenomas and in the differential identification of primary and metastatic tumors of the pituitary. This antibody is superb for staining of routine formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues.
